Went to a membership luncheon for a local chamber of commerce with my manager and a recruiter on Tuesday. Sat down, got ready to eat. All of a sudden I was floored.
"Will you please bow your heads as we ask a blessing on the meal..."
WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Let me explain my bewilderment. I am from California. This NEVER (And I mean NEVER) happens. Never at a chamber event. Never at a school event. I'm not even sure if they pray for their meals at church events. (before I get any vitriolic email, I am just kidding about the church thing...well, most churches, anyway.)
I thought it was cool.

Now I 'll go back to my corner.
Supposed to be some wicked thunderstorms tonight.
